Once upon a time, in the bustling city of Guadalajara, Jalisco, México two best friends, Maria and Regina, embarked on a beautiful journey of creativity and craftsmanship. In 2019, they shared a dream – to create a brand that celebrated their love for handmade bags. "GARRUFA MX " was born.
In the beginning, their tiny workshop was filled with laughter, dreams, and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee. Regina was a talented Art Director, her hands creating all the best escenarios. Maria, on the other hand, was gifted with an eye for design, creating stunning patterns and color combinations that combined perfectly with Regina´s talent.
Their first collection, launched in the spring of 2019, was an instant hit among the local community. Each piece told a story – a story of friendship, creativity, and passion. GARRUFA MX became more than just a brand; it became a symbol of their bond and dedication.
Over the years, GARRUFA MX grew. They started to, gain a loyal customer base. In 2022 Maria started a journey in Madrid, Spain and so as Garrufa mx. Their creations, started to be a must in Madrid and found homes in the hearts of people who appreciated the beauty of handmade artisans bags.
In 2022, however, life took Maria and Regina in different directions. While their friendship remained intact, they decided to pursue individual paths due to personal and professional commitments. With heavy hearts, they made the difficult decision to split GARRUFA MX.
But their story didn't end there. Maria continued her journey, expanding Garrufa mx in around the world while Regina explored her passion for Art Direction. Though they were no longer business partners, their shared experiences and the skills they had acquired together continued to shape their individual artistic pursuits.
The meaning of Garrufa is the joy of bringing something beautiful into the world with your own hands, and support local artisans workers from México. And so, lived on, not just in the pieces they had created, but in the inspiration they provided to others who dared to follow their creative dreams.
